What does Word Unscrambler do?

Word Unscrambler takes any rack of letters and generates every valid English word that can be formed from them. It sorts words by length (longest first) and computes real-time tile point values according to official game rulebooks. All search calculations execute entirely in your browser using pre-compiled tournament dictionary buckets.

How to use the tool

  • Type your letters: Enter up to 15 characters in any order. Spaces, question marks (?), and asterisks (*) act as wildcards for blank tiles.
  • Filter with patterns: Expand Options to constrain results by prefix (starts with), suffix (ends with), or mandatory substrings.
  • Check definitions: Click any word chip in the results list to view its dictionary definition and validity across Scrabble and Words with Friends lists.
  • Exact anagrams vs. subsets: By default, the solver finds every word buildable from any subset of your letters. Check Use all letters to restrict output to full-length anagrams.
